Slow Shutter Speed

IMG_0410
In this picture i used a slow shutter speed and captured the heart from the light.

IMG_0404
On this photograph we used three flashlights and made different patterns that showed up.

IMG_0402
In the picture we made an infinite sign, a star, and a cross.

IMG_0416
In this picture we got the swiped flashlight and the dotted line captured on the camera.

IMG_0412
I think that the light in this picture looks a bit like a smiley face coming from the flashlight with the camera on a slow shutter speed.

Fast Shutter Speed

IMG_0018
In this picture we were using a fast shutter speed and my friend was swirling his arm around and it looks like it's completely still.

IMG_0031
In this picture the shutter speed was quite fast to capture the water droplets coming out of the cap on the water bottle.

IMG_0041
This picture was when we threw the swing and you capture the chains bending and swirling around each other.

IMG_0044
This picture is like the other but we were just going to smack the swing up to knock the snow off and I captured a picture just before we did it.

IMG_0026
In this picture we used a higher shutter speed and the water drops came out a bit clearer than the one above.

Colour

IMG_6949
This picture has the two different pictures of the trees with the fall colours.

IMG_6955
In this picture the blue garbage can stands out along the light green grass.

IMG_6957
The berries really stand out on the neutral background and with the shadow darkening around the berries really makes them vibrant.

IMG_6953
The red camera is what you focus on in this picture because of the bright red colour on the grayish brown picnic table.

Leading Lines

IMG_6950
This photo leads your eyes down two paths each going in two similar but different directions.
IMG_6947
This picture has one line leading right down the chain until you are at the person standing at the top of the picture.
IMG_6946
This photo is split by the light gray pavement and the blacktop and you can see one line going down the middle and it leads your eye right to the shadow.
IMG_6943
In this photograph your eyes go along with the sidewake and the cement barrier all the way down until the crossing.
IMG_6944
This picture makes your eyes follow both roads until they end at the end of the picture.

Leading Lines

http://www.photographyblogger.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Leading-Lines5.jpg
In this picture the lines all lead to the end of the tunnel so you almost immediatly focus on the end.

http://farm2.staticflickr.com/1140/845145522_c5e76c181c.jpg
The lines in this picture lead you straight to the bright white door on the front of the house sitting on the water.

http://www.shutterbug.com/images/archivesart/0910picture01.jpg
These lines are all curving in different ways and you follow the river down until the end of the picture and you wonder where it ends.

The two diagonal lines lead you to the kite flying through the clear blue sky

http://www.photo-junkie.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/leading-lines-curved.jpg
There is many sets of lines that go through this picture and my eyes follow the curved walkway going up onto the doorway.

shutter speed

http://2.cdn.nhle.com/oilers/images/upload/2012/02/644oilwpg.jpg
This picture uses a fast shutter speed because you can see the snow flying off the ice into the air clearly and the expression on the players face.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCURqh90fFuAlnMa7yDfJglPQeUmMYjX9ldrgz9Ky6KUso1Rz40IxH7aJPsJBZ9DhNsJ6N04zAnv7RNPRXn4nq1GuzosZ5q9WjO7bbF6LNImJVsPGpdGUS-GCoXCUfeEJ3a9mPvAsrmh9n/s1600/fight-nhl.jpg
This picture uses a very fast shutter speed because you catch the fist as it's just hitting the player in the face before any pain registers.

This picture also uses a fast shutter speed like the ones above and you can see the player in red being knocked ver and a little bit of spit flying out of his mouth.

http://www.takegreatpictures.com/app/webroot/content/2010_images/2009/06/10/slow_shutter_03.jpg
Unlike all of the above pictures this one uses a slower shutter speed because the ground is blurry while the body of the mule deer is fairly clear except for the legs.

http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lvj756CCtb1qzxee4.png
Like the picture of the deer this photo uses slow shutter speed because it catches the flames in the circle going around.

Colour

http://memberfiles.freewebs.com/54/93/52589354/photos/Blue/blue9.jpg

In this picture all of the colour is blue and you can even see the different shades and tints. I also found the design on this picture very fascinating.

http://www.twitsnaps.com/share/photo/9759_auroratrails.jpg

This photo shows the bright northern lights in a flame looking pattern in a light green colour shining against the dark night sky.

http://www.artoncanvasonline.co.uk/images/uploads/Picture_078_copyppppp.jpg

This picture shows the blood red sunrise coming up over the clouds, it has a few different shades of red with the focal point on the sun in the middle of the page with the different lines coming across from the little waves and horizon.

http://www.scenicreflections.com/files/Yellow%20Sunset%20Wallpaper__yvt2.jpg

This pictuer shows the morning yellow sun coming over some glacier mountains and it's turning the entire sky and even the lakes surface different shades and tints of yellow.

This photo shows the orange sky with the shades of colour and the lines going across the sky.

Powerful Photos

In a powerful photo you need a few different elements to come together. You always need to have a good type of lighting, A clear subject that follows the rule of thirds and has strong focal emphasis and a sense of timing. A photo that would make me say wow is if it was had a emotional pull to it or it had something to do with outdoors.

Emotions in Photograpy

Emotions in photography can be shown in several different ways and forms. Most times it's shown by how a person looks in a photo by there facial expression or body language. I think that a good example would be almost any picture from the great depression to show how sad it was back then. Also you could show somebody crying and you would immediatly think that they are upset in some way. I think the most obvious colour to show an emotion is the colour red, it usually displays anger in some way.

Emphasis

The photographer used the brightness of the yellow flower to make it really "pop" and even make the background blurry for the extra effect.
http://sps.k12.mo.us/disney/ppetr/j0144248.jpg

This picture stands out from the effect of isolation and colour.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih-DxDriz6TDKrCTF_kYMx8YWx2ryXw_AUWyJR9EulwJbdGar0KA20WC_-VWMOBKJwDFSvRw45l7ZaSv9GH1swV34_KjTxUQitaXhHt29Z_YlinC3fHkt8uYWeeMvF28TBPfOQgCIqhWs/s400/contrastvariationchristmas-pixel-art-1.jpg

The emphasis is one the bright evening sun, it immediately draws your eyes because it lights everything else to it and it's dead center of the picture.

http://www.diyphotography.net/files/sunset/image002.jpg

The farm house draws your eyes to it from the redness sticking out and it just sits in the middle of the two tress.

http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2012/1547872373_f2bfd55f06_z.jpg

This photo uses focal emphasis to focas on the only red rose in the field and as you go up in the photo it slowly gets fuzzy.

Focal Emphasis

Focal emphasis in pictures is what you focas on and what catches your eye, everything else is just plain except for whats emphasized. Good photographers make something stand out by the colour, texture or something that you can relate to.

Rule of Thirds

IMG_2533

This picture was taken in the D.S.S parking lot on October 2nd I put my emphasis on the fire hydrant and the I put the hydrant on the bottom left power point.

IMG_2535

This picture was taken in the hallway at D.S.S. on October 2nd and the emphasis is obviously on the bright red fire bell and that was on the upper left power point.

IMG_2534

This photograph was taken in the teachers parking lot on October 2nd and the focal point is the blue handicap sign and it's on one of the power points.

IMG_2529

This photo was taken on my playground on October 2nd and the focal point is the plain white basketball hoop on one of the power points against the mountain.

IMG_2531

This picture is similar to the one above but it was taken just on the edge of the school property on October 2nd and the soccer ball is supossed to be the main point.

Rule of Thirds

The rule of thirds is a grid you can have on your photographs that splits the screen into nine different boxes by two vertical and two horizontal lines and thats where the main object of the photo looks the best. The power points are the four "points" that show up from the horizontal and vertical lines cross
